LIM College Spotlight

Macy's Merchandising Group Senior Co-op

“Completing Senior Co-op gave me perspective on the future while allowing me to step back and think about what’s next. Working with Macy’s was a great experience and I will never forget the valuable lessons I learned there. ”

While an intern with Macy’s Merchandising Group (MMG), Ryan Stiber was launched into an exciting atmosphere where enthusiasm and hands-on participation were a must.

Working with Visual Managers, Retail Development and Merchant Teams, Ryan was given the opportunity to create visual imagery for communications that depicted MMG private brand in-store environments. He also crafted directives for stores to utilize when making brand-appropriate statements.

Along with researching competitive brands, merchandising trends and industry technologies, the Visual Merchandising major from Reading, Pennsylvania, had a unique chance to create conceptual imagery that portrayed future buys, prospective fixtures and visual elements for MMG.

Ryan says the experience at MMG fits into his goal of working as a Hospitality Designer in New York or Los Angeles. He says his LIM College career and MMG internship prepared him for designing alluring environments where people can come together, appreciate his work and say, “That’s definitely a Ryan Stiber design.”
