Life @ LIM
Meet six LIM College students and learn more about their fashion industry experiences and day-to-day lives in New York City.
Dana Rudnick, Class of 2012 - Pound Ridge, New York
Dana is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and an associate degree in Fashion Merchandising. After living in the College residence hall as a freshman, she now rents an apartment with another LIM College student. Dana’s internship at Meredith Corp.’s Better TV has her considering a career in fashion-related television or magazines. She’s volunteered at lots of Fashion Week shows, including Diane von Furstenberg, and loves visiting NYC museums.
Janel Lopez, Class of 2010 – San Diego, CA
Janel gave up the year-round warm weather of San Diego to pursue her passion for fashion in New York City. As a senior Marketing major, Janel is completing a full-time internship with Iconix, focusing on licensing. In her free time she loves exploring New York City’s diverse neighborhoods to find fabulous vintage stores and out-of-the-way boutiques.
Daniella Klammer, Class of 2011 – Union, New Jersey
Daniella is majoring in Marketing with a concentration in Fashion Publishing and commutes from home to get to her classes. She’s explored several different fashion career paths so far, interning with Lucky Brand jeans, Women’s Health magazine and Factory PR. What does Daniella’s future hold? Possibly a career in either trend forecasting or consumer behavior.
Marlee Goldklang, Class of 2011 – Forest Hills, New York
Marlee is interested in pursuing a career in marketing at a magazine. The internship she completed at Time Out New York should help her accomplish that. A Fashion Merchandising major, Marlee lives at home in Forest Hills, New York. Marlee has also done internships at Anna Sui and Patricia Field and volunteered backstage at several Fashion Week shows, including Rodarte and Preen.
Aliahna Lukkasson, Class of 2013 – Seattle, Washington
Aliahna came all the way from Washington State because of her interest in Event Planning and Fashion Show Production. Now a Fashion Merchandising major, she’s already volunteered at several Fashion Week shows and done a retail internship with TopShop. Living in the residence hall and being part of the Fashion Scholars program helped Aliahna make new friends quickly.
Sarah Ellis, Class of 2011 - Johnson City, Tennessee
Sarah is majoring in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Styling. She shares an apartment in Brooklyn with another LIM College student. Sarah’s done internships at Wet Seal and Seamless Showroom and volunteered at a number of Fashion Week shows. After graduation, she plans to move to the West Coast to pursue a career in product development, hopefully at Nike.
