Viewing of Limited Edition of Visionaire 58: A Tribute to Alexander McQueen
View the lavish limited edition of Visionaire dedicated to Alexander McQueen
To celebrate the Costume Institute exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, the Adrian G. Marcuse Library at LIM College is sharing its newest acquisition: one of only 70 copies of the very limited couture edition of Visionaire 58 SPIRIT: A Tribute to Alexander McQueen.
The couture edition of Visionaire 58 SPIRIT was created for institutions and special collections. This edition features a hand-embroidered metalized brocade cover inspired by one of McQueen's final designs. The brocade covers the entire top and spine of the case, which is made from fine Italian leather accented with gold foil detailing. The collection is printed on paper embedded with wildflower seeds that, when planted, watered, and given sun, blossom.
Contributors include Lady Gaga, Mario Sorrenti, Steven Meisel, Mario Testino, and Inez van Lamsweerde.
The couture edition will be on view from 10am-6pm on Wednesday, May 18th in the Adrian G. Marcuse Library, located on the 2nd floor of Maxwell Hall at 216 E. 45th St. (betw. 2nd & 3rd Aves.).
