Liz Sweibel is a full-time faculty member in LIM College’s Arts & Sciences Department. She joined LIM as an adjunct in 2005 and transitioned to a full-time position in 2012. She teaches Professional Communications, Contemporary Art, and First-Year Experience. The online version of Sweibel's Contemporary Art course was nominated for a Blackboard Exemplary Course Award in 2012.

A contemporary artist with an active studio practice and exhibition schedule, Sweibel was awarded a solo exhibition at NURTUREart, in Brooklyn, New York, for the 2013-2014 season. A catalog will be published. She was an exhibiting artist in “Parts to the Whole” at the Medicine Factory in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2012, as well as in “Revealing the Ordinary” at the Korean Cultural Council in New York City in 2011. In 2008, she was an exhibiting and visiting artist in “Many Kinds of Nothing” at Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Sweibel has worked as an independent writer and editor since 1984 and is a member of the Association for Business Communication. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art from Maine College of Art, a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Manhattan College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Florida, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting from Massachusetts College of Art.
