Marketing, Management & Finance
Dr. Nicole Kirpalani joined LIM College as an Assistant Professor of Marketing in 2010. She teaches a variety of undergraduate marketing courses, including Consumer Behavior, Services Marketing and Global Markets. She also teaches Marketing & Sales Management and Consumer Behavior in Fashion in LIM College's MBA program.
Dr. Kirpalani’s academic interests focus on consumer behavior, including the co-creation of value, consumer relationships with fashion brands, service consumption and consumer privacy. She is also engaged in research related to marketing pedagogy and online learning.
Dr. Kirpalani has published papers in Psychology & Marketing and Marketing Education Review. She serves as an editorial advisory board member for Young Consumers and as an editorial review board member for Marketing Education Review. She has presented multiple conference papers on marketing and marketing education-related topics.
Her professional background includes work as a Product Line Financial Analyst for Hewlett-Packard in Germany, and as a Marketing Assistant for Irmscher International, also in Germany.
Dr. Kirpalani holds a Ph.D. in Business (Marketing) from the City University of New York, where she was a doctoral fellowship recipient. She also received a Master of Science in Secondary Education (Business Education) and a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Hofstra University, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing & Management from Cooperative State University in Germany. She is a member of the American Marketing Association and the Society for Marketing Advances.
Dr. Kirpalani is the recipient of LIM College's 2012 Distinguished Teaching Award and was selected as one of three finalists for the Pride-Ferrell Cengage Innovations in Teaching Competition at the Society for Marketing Advances Conference in 2012.
In her spare time, Dr. Kirpalani enjoys photography, yoga, travel, and historical fiction.
