Paris Hilton: Love or Despise?

Who doesn’t love the glittering, Chihuahua-holding, Barbie-doll pretty, American socialite Paris Hilton? Since the moment this fabulous Goldielocks was able to stand on her own, she has been strutting her way to the limelight. The sex-tape episodes and arrests for driving while intoxicated have not driven her fans away.

During her troubles she received phone calls (no, not just from the hacker who got a hold of her "contacts" and played pranks with them in a well-known incident), email, and postal mail offering encouragment and love. Let's face it. We all love her even through her scandals and she loves us for it. So, no worries America. This diva won’t be disappearing anytime soon and as far as we’re all concerned… “That’s Hot”.

It is hard to image our world without Paris Hilton however, I have to say that I wouldn't miss her. She seems like a super person but, she just doesnt do it for me. That being said I have two chihuahau's myself and love them both more then life. So for that reason alone, she is ok in my book.

Professor Palladino said it perfectly. Miss Hilton might be worth a million bucks but those bucks aren't just her mommy and daddy's. She has created an empire from perfume to reality TV shows to her own brand. LIM students can take a hint from Hilton. She has decided what she stands for and has stuck to it. This doesn't have to included little dogs and pink rhinestones but when you are heading out into the job market and going on interviews remember that you are also a brand, hopefully you'll be one worth buying!

After seeing the MTV documentary on her, I've learned to respect who she is. Her personality that we see is just her image & brand, and I was surprised to learn that she is a smart entrepreneur.

As much as we all want to dislike Paris Hilton, I feel she's a great business woman and has really used the media to her advantage. We definitely will be seeing a lot more of Paris in the coming years!

In the world of today we are all a brand. Our appearance, thoughts and certainly our actions define us in the briefest encounter. From Paris Hilton to the person next to you on the "E" train, we are all sending out a message. While at Henri Bendel, I came to know Paris Hilton personally and can tell you there is no better "brand master." Her projected image has created someone we have learned to love or to hate, but always draws a response. I got to know Paris as a person as we wandered the store and talked and shared fashion critiques and personal anecdotes. She is an articualte, thoughtful and polite person who knew the difference between an opportunity and a moment. She and I were able to find common ground and with that came a trust and confidence that I earned and kept for the three years we worked together. When she was in town, she would call me on my cell and we would meet and I would be mindful of her privacy and for that she was grateful. However, when it came to leaving the store, Paris would exit through the front door and blaze a trail through the flashing cameras and adoring fans. Just before leaving she would give me a hug and a kiss and would turn to towards the opportunity, leaving our moment behind.
