Events to mark Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Awareness month

October is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Awareness month at LIM College. Below is a list of events happening on and off campus.

Visit the "Equality Wall" all month in the Fifth Avenue lounge and express your thoughts and opinions about love and equality to the entire LIM College community.

Oct. 4
"Love is More" anti-prejudice campaign photo shoot
in the Fifth Ave. lounge during the lunch hour
Sponsored by the Ultimate Choir and the Cultural Diversity Club

Oct. 11
National Coming Out Day
This is an international event which gives, gay, lesbian, and bisexual people the opportunity to "come out" to others about their sexual orientation and increases the visibility of the gay, lesbian and and bisexual community.

Oct. 13
Free HIV testing in the Office of Student Life from 11 am - 4 pm
Sponsored by the Latino Commission on AIDS

Oct. 23
FIERCE's annual Bowl-a-thon (sponsored by the Student Life Activities Board (SLAB)
This event brings members of the community together to raise money to support FIERCE in building the leadership and power of LGBT youth of color in NYC.
at Harlem Lanes (2116 7th Ave.) from 1:00 - 5:00 pm
$10 admission includes food, bowling, and shoe rental

Oct. 27
"Identify Yourself" featuring guest speaker Pamela Roy
in the Fifth Ave. lounge during the lunch hour

Oct. 28
LIM College Drag Show (presented by AOTA and SLAB)
at the Providence nightclub on West 57th St. at 6 pm
Advance tickets are $5 for students, $7 for friends and family and can be purchased in the Office of Student Life ($10 at the door on the day of show)
