English & Math Placement Criteria
English
New students with an SATW score of 460 or better or an ACT score of 19 or better will be placed in English Composition.
New students with an SATW score below 460 or an ACT score below 19 will be placed in Writing Essentials.
Transfer students will be evaluated according to the criteria of SATW and ACT scores. If they have taken composition courses, though, these courses will be reviewed for equivalency and students placed in the appropriate composition course.
International students will be evaluated according to the criteria of SATW and ACT scores as well as one of the required English Proficiency tests.
Math
New students are placed into math courses based upon their SATM or ACT math score, according to the following criteria:

| 430-480 | 18-20 | Elements of Algebra |
| 490-520 | 21-22 | Introduction to Algebra |
| 530-Above | 23-above | College Algebra |

International students will be evaluated according to the criteria of SATM and ACT scores.
