Glenda Bailey, Editor-in-Chief of Harper's Bazaar, and Interior Designer Alessandra Branca Discuss "Fashion and Interiors" at LIM College's Fashion: Now & Then Conference
Participants from around the world come together to discuss the past, present, and future uses of fashion information
On Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20 professionals from the fashion industry, libraries, archives, academic institutions, publishers, and museums gathered at LIM College for Fashion: Now & Then, a conference on fashion information that consisted of lectures and panel discussions. Participants were drawn from around the globe, including the U.K., Denmark, Brazil, and Portugal.
Glenda Bailey, Editor-in-Chief of Harper's Bazaar, along with famed interior designer Alessandra Branca (pictured at left), provided the conference's keynote presentation as they discussed "Fashion and Interiors" in a Q&A format that included a slide show and active audience participation.
At the conference, several LIM College faculty members also presented their own original research and sat on panels, including Profs. Amanda Hallay, Susan Baxter, Nicole Kirpalani, David Benjamin, Robert Clark, Kenneth Kambara and Lucy Collins.
Among the other lecturers and panelists were: Marianne Brown, the Collections Manager & Assistant Archivist at Conde Nast, who discussed the Vogue digitization project; Cassie Davies Strodder, Assistant Curator in the Fashion and Textiles Department at The Victoria and Albert Museum in London; and Anne Coco, Graphic Arts Librarian at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Margaret Herrick Library.
