Visual Merchandising students use more than 250 records in project for The Dream Downtown Hotel's Safira boutique
As part of a project for Professor Grailing King's Visual Merchandising: History, Theory and Practice course, LIM College students Erin Meade and Jenna Brandt designed a unique display at The Dream Downtown Hotel's Safira boutique.
Inspired by the music scene, Erin and Jenna embellished the boutique façade with album covers from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, and framed the entry and the windows with 33LP albums. They used a total of 250 items for their creation, which they purchased at a discount from Westsider Records (233 W. 72nd St.).
Says Erin, "Growing up, I was surrounded by records, music and the whole hippie scene... The concept just felt right. I feel that this fits perfectly with the style of The Dream Hotel, which is is extremely chic and trendy. I am thrilled with the results."
