Finding Books, Magazines and DVDs Using the Library Catalog

Books on shelves

Finding books, DVDs and magazines in the library is easy!

Just use LIMCat - the Library Catalog.

To search for books (including e-books), DVDs, magazines, journals, newspapers and other materials in the Library, simply go to LIMCat, the library catalog.

In LIMCat you can search for library holdings by "words or phrases", "title", "author", "subject" or any combination of those areas.  You can also search by or limit your search by format type.  Curious what DVDs we have with Anna Wintour, do “words or phrases” search for Anna Wintour and limit by type DVD.

For details about a particular title, click on the title in the search results screen and you will be taken to the item's record which provides you with:

  • The item's call # (its address on the shelf)
  • Where the item is shelved in the library (regular shelves, reference shelves, oversize shelves, DVD shelves)
  • If the item is currently on the shelf or if it is checked out by another library user
  • "A look inside" where you can see reviews on the item, the table of contents and with some DVDs you can actually see clips of the movie

To take out library items you need to register with the library and get a library barcode sticker to place on the back of your LIM ID.  Please stop by the library to get registered with the library and be given a sticker.

If you need research assistance, please contact the library to speak to one of the Librarians on staff.
