Degree Completion

Computer terminals with a screen saver that says LIM

If you have an associate degree and five or more years of work experience in the fashion or related industries, you may be closer to earning a bachelor’s degree than you think.

By enrolling in LIM College’s baccalaureate degree completion program, you can take advantage of the flexibility afforded by online learning and earn your Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) degree in Fashion Merchandising.

Start by earning academic credit through an online Portfolio Assessment process. You can develop “petitions of learning” based on your work/life experiences and submit them in a portfolio for faculty evaluation/approval. Credit earned through this process is applied directly to the bachelor's degree and often accelerates the date when you can complete your degree. Depending on the depth of your work/life experience and learning, you could finish your baccalaureate degree in just 15 - 24 months.

Program Highlights

• Earn 3 credits in PORT 300 (Portfolio Development), a required course designed to help you develop a portfolio requesting academic credit based on lifelong learning. The credits, when approved, will be applied towards your BPS degree. Typically, students earn between 15 - 21 credits from their portfolios. Students with substantive work/life experience can earn up to 30 credits or more.

• Unique degree completion plans are designed especially for each student.

• Remaining course requirements can be completed online or via traditional classroom courses.
