LIM College MBA Program CEO Speaker Series Continues with Paul Charron


Chairman of the Board of Campbell Soup Company and former CEO and Chairman of Liz Claiborne to speak on March 14

Paul Charron, Chairman of the Board of Campbell Soup Company and former Chairman and CEO of Liz Claiborne, Inc. will speak to students in LIM College's MBA Program on March 14 at 5:30 p.m. in FashionOpolis (12 East 53rd St.). 

Launched in the fall of 2010, the CEO Speaker Series brings the best and brightest minds in the retail and apparel industries on campus to interact with LIM College’s MBA students in an intimate and informal setting. 

Previous participants include Stephen I. Sadove, Chairman and CEO of Saks, Inc. and Mindy Grossman, CEO of HSN, Inc.

About Paul Charron
Paul R. Charron is currently senior advisor at Warburg Pincus, a New York-based private equity firm, and serves as a non-executive Chairman of the Board at Campbell Soup Company, the global food products company. He formerly served as chairman and chief executive officer of Liz Claiborne Inc., the global retail and fashion company.

Mr. Charron joined Liz Claiborne in May, 1994 as vice chairman and chief operating officer. One year later, he became president and chief executive officer, and was elected chairman in May, 1996. He retired as chief executive officer in November, 2006, and as chairman of the board on December 31, 2006.

Previously, Mr. Charron was executive vice president of VF Corporation, a large publicly held apparel manufacturer. Before joining VF in 1988, Mr. Charron served as president and chief operating officer of Brown & Bigelow, the Minnesota-based promotional products firm. He also served as senior vice president, sales and marketing at Cannon Mills Company, a New York-based bath and bedding manufacturer, and worked in marketing management positions at General Foods Corporation. His business career began in the brand management organization at Procter & Gamble.

Mr. Charron has been involved in a number of industry and philanthropic activities, including leadership positions on the boards of the National Retail Federation and the American Apparel and Footwear Association. He is currently a director of Vital Voices Global Partnership and chair of the New York City Investment Fund’s Retail and Tourism Sector. Most recently, he became a member of the U.S. Department of State’s Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy.

Raised in Louisville, Kentucky and a native of Schenectady, New York, Mr. Charron received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame, and holds a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University. He served five years as a naval officer and is a combat veteran of Vietnam.
