In addition to launching his own menswear company, Trevor Brooks will appear as a contestant on an episode of “The Job”

Trevor Brooks MBA in Fashion Management and EntrpreneurshipAlthough it’s only February, 2013 is shaping up to be a particularly exciting year for recent LIM College MBA program graduate Trevor Brooks.

In addition to launching his own online menswear company, Alenford, Trevor will appear as a contestant on an episode of The Job, a new reality TV show where he will compete for a position at GILT, a leading online shopping destination with more than 7 million members.

Alenford is a by-invitation-only online menswear club that features a fitted, customized, luxury dress shirt collection. LIM College’s Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Milan Milasinovic, is the President of the company’s Board and also serves as a mentor to Trevor and his business partner Luigi Leonardi, a fashion industry veteran.

Says Trevor, “Alenford offers members an innovative online experience paired with live knowledgeable assistance from skilled in-house style experts. What distinguishes Alenford shirts is their modern design paired with an experienced production team based in a medieval town in Tuscany. This team is comprised of highly-trained shirt makers who utilize a unique 36-step Italian finishing process. Our shirts are made with the best Italian fabrics and the highest quality of cotton, including Pima, Sea Island and Egyptian cottons.”

Trevor is a native of Columbia Station, Ohio. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Ohio University, where he was also a pre-law student. Yet after working for Enterprise Rent-a-Car in his home state, he decided to come to New York City to pursue his passion.

He says, “I have always had a passion for entrepreneurship, business and fashion. I enrolled in the LIM College MBA program because it was the best place for me to combine my interest in fashion with my desire to hone my business acumen. The program prepared me with the knowledge I needed to enter the fashion industry and connected me to great people who have given me the opportunity to both launch Alenford and compete on The Job.”

Airing on CBS on Friday nights at 8 p.m. starting Feb. 8, The Job comes from acclaimed executive producers Michael Davies (Who Wants to Be a Millionaire) and Mark Burnett (Survivor, The Apprentice, The Voice) and puts candidates face-to-face with executives at some of America’s most prestigious companies in the most unique – and demanding – interview of their lives. Hosted by Lisa Ling, each episode will feature five candidates participating in elimination challenges before a panel of executives as they compete for their dream job. In addition to GILT, companies that will be featured on the series include: Palm Restaurant Group, Cosmopolitan magazine, Major League Soccer, Epic Records, Zynga, Live Nation, and Viceroy Hotel Group.

Trevor’s advice to fellow aspiring fashion entrepreneurs? “Stay focused, never settle, failure is nothing but a learning opportunity. Do not be afraid to seek help, stay humble, take risks and have fun! Understand that passion will start the race, but your hard work and discipline will get you past the finish line.”
