Information for Accepted Freshmen
As an incoming Freshman at LIM College you will have a world of opportunity at your fingertips! You will have four full years to experience the industry immersion that LIM provides. You should not forget all the exciting student life, social, and cultural events you will have the chance to attend. With so much in store, why wouldn’t you make LIM your college choice?
Congratulations again on your acceptance to LIM College! There are a number of items you will need to take of in order to get yourself prepared for the upcoming semester. Please be sure to complete all of the steps below. If you have questions, we have provided the contact information for the relevant departments below.
#1 Secure your seat in the upcoming semester’s class. If you plan on attending LIM College your first step should be to send in the $400 tuition deposit along with the Tuition Agreement Form.
You can make tuition payments to LIM College by check, cash, or money order. If you need to make a rush payment, you can do so online through NBS, but keep in mind there will be an additional fee for this. If you have any questions on payments, please contact our Student Accounts Office for details.

#2 Arrange for housing if necessary. LIM College welcomes you to live in our state of the art, luxury residence hall. Housing arrangements are made with the Office of Residence Life. Housing applications are sent out a few months before the semester begins.

LIM College offers students an Off-campus Meal Plan Option and we encourage you to visit their website at: http://ocmp.com/SchoolsAbout.aspx?id=76 . Select “LIM- New York City” to view the many participating restaurants and supermarkets that accept our meal plan.
#3 Get your Immunization Form filled out. In accordance with New York State Law, all students must have immunization records on file at the College in order to attend classes. Have your physician complete the form and submit it to the attention of the Office of Counseling & Wellness. At the very latest, it must be submitted when you come to testing and scheduling.

#4 Apply for Financial Aid. LIM College recommends that all students apply for financial aid. Your first step will be to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). LIM College offers various need and merit based scholarships. For more information on LIM College’s financial policies or a list of important forms, please check our Student Financial Services page.
#5 Health Insurance. LIM College requires health insurance coverage and an automatic charge for health insurance will be applied to your account. Students who have current health insurance may waive the automatic health insurance by providing proof of coverage. LIM College’s health insurance provider is Gallagher Koster and we encourage you to visit their website at: https://www.gallagherkoster.com/
#6 Final Transcripts. You must send LIM College your official final high school transcript after you have graduated. Please feel free to use our . In accordance with New York State Law, all students must submit proof of High School graduation in order to attend classes. Students who cannot obtain their final high school transcript will be permitted to submit their official diploma, photocopies will not be accepted.
#7 Get Connected. You will be equipped with an LIM College email account a few weeks after enrolling. Please check this account periodically for updates; however we will continue to send all important information to your personal email accounts as well until you begin classes. Joining LIM College’s Facebook community is another great way to connect with incoming and current students and stay on top of all of the latest LIM College news.
#8 Testing and Scheduling. Incoming LIM College freshmen are required to take placement tests for math and English. Students can be exempted from these tests for high IB, AP, or SAT test scores. You cannot take your placement tests online or at another school. Details will be sent to you a few months before the semester starts.
We strongly recommend students who will be taking the math placement test use our basic math and algebra study guides to prepare. Students who take advantage of these study guides pass the placement test at a much higher rate than those who do not!
#9 Orientation. All incoming students are required to attend LIM College’s New Student Orientation. LIM College also hosts a very informative Parent Orientation for those who wish to attend. Information for orientation is sent out by the office of Student Life a few months before the start of the semester.
