LIM College Students Meet Tommy Hilfiger During Field Trip
Field Trip classes are an invaluable networking experience for LIM College students
Students in Professor Ionia Dunn-Lee’s Field Trip class got a special surprise during their October 21 visit to Tommy Hilfiger, when the fashion icon himself made an appearance during their tour of the company’s West 26th Street headquarters.
Hilfiger chatted with students and posed for a group photo. The Field Trip also featured an informative talk about the company’s history and culture from Betsy Hilfiger, Director of Community Affairs, and a tour of the company’s offices from John Burke, Director of the Company Archive and Corporate Closet at Tommy Hilfiger. Burke, who has also spoken at LIM College’s Fashion Survey course, discussed internship opportunities and gave students valuable career advice.
LIM College’s Field Trip classes are a unique opportunity for students to explore the fashion industry first-hand. An essential part of the curriculum, Field Trip is a required course for all freshmen, sophomores and junior transfer students. It provides participants with an awareness of a range of career options and can offer valuable networking opportunities.
