“My professors made the biggest impact on my career. I discovered my love for product development through my professor for Applied Concepts in Fashion Merchandising. All my professors gave me confidence to excel and that has made all the difference.”
Bedford, New Hampshire native Stephanie is now in the center of the fashion world in New York City. As the Product Development Coordinator for women's hats, gloves and scarves at Cole Haan, she works with factories overseas as well as the company’s in-house design and merchandising teams.
Among the many courses that helped Stephanie succeed are Finance, Web PDM, Leadership and Negotiation, and the Senior Capstone. She says that she now uses all of the skills she learned in these classes on a daily basis.
Her advice for students? 'Use your professors! The insight they have can be better than what you will learn in a textbook. And intern as much as you can. Internships are the best way to build your network and also find what you will love (or hate) in the industry.'
