Applied Fashion Styling and Event Planning I Classes Present "Flaunting Fearlessly" Fashion Show and Auction

April 7 at 6 p.m. in FashionOpolis

On Thursday, April 7 students in Professor Michael Palladino’s Applied Fashion Styling and Event Planning I classes will present “Flaunting Fearlessly,” a fashion show and auction which will raise money for the LIM Fashion Education Foundation. Fashion designer Sylvia Heisel has donated 11 t-shirts from her Flaunt Fiercely label, which students in the Applied Fashion Styling course will style in the manner of a prominent fashion designer (including Betsey Johnson, Valentino, Zac Posen, and Marc Jacobs). Each student will be able to cut, sew, color and embellish her or his shirt in any way they see fit.

The finished t-shirts will then be modeled and auctioned off at the conclusion of the fashion show. Bids will start at $30 and increase in $5 increments and all proceeds will go to the LIM Fashion Education Foundation to support student scholarships. Students in the Event Planning course will execute and market the event, which will be supported by a bake sale on the LIM College campus on March 24.

The models’ makeup will be provided by Giella, a line of custom-blended cosmetics. A student deejay will be on hand to provide music, and all food and beverages will be provided by Subway. Goody bags will be distributed to all attendees and there will also be a raffle.

“Flaunting Fearlessly” will be in held in FashionOpolis at 6 p.m. on April 7. If you’re interested in attending, please contact Michael Palladino to reserve your space.
