“LIM students are inspired to be successful, no matter which branch of the industry they choose to go into – and I want to inspire my students to be the best they can be.”
Fashion Merchandising Professor Derek Cockle designed menswear for Bill Blass, Henry Grethel, Gianfranco Ruffini, Pierre Cardin and other well-known brands during his 30 years in the fashion world. The two-time winner of Cotton Incorporated’s Designer of the Year Award has also worked as a product development executive.
Cockle brings this wealth of experience to LIM College, teaching a number of courses, including Menswear, Accessories, Product Development, and Textiles. He takes great joy in passing on his knowledge to his pupils in the personal setting afforded by LIM’s small class sizes. He also travels to China every year with a group of students to explore that country’s unique culture and role in the fashion universe.
