What To Do About Work Project II?
October 2008

< back

Hey everyone! So it's October, which means that the crisp fall weather is here...as well as midterms. It's crazy because that means in a little over a month, the semester will be over and I will be doing my Work Project II. In fact, I'm going next week to talk about my schedule for the spring semester. I'm actually going to be changing my major to Marketing because I'm going through that typical college student angst where I'm totally confused as to what type of career I want to have.

Anyway, I mentioned that I will be doing my Work Project II soon. However, I have NO clue where I am going to be doing it at. I don't want to just settle for anything...I want to have an internship that I will really enjoy and learn a lot from. I applied for an internship at a production company to be a production/casting intern, so we will see how that goes. I also went on an interview for a showroom and that went well, so that might be another opportunity. Actually, I had a chance to go on the interview for the showroom because I went there on my Field Trip class. So when people tell you about the benefits of networking and all of that, they aren't making it up!

As for my life, it's been pretty boring. I've just been super busy with schoolwork and studying, and then working any chance I can get. Also, I'm looking into going to another school to get an associate degree in print communications, so that's another thing on my already too packed "to-do" list.  One fun thing I did do recently though was I went to go see my one of my favorite bands, Chromeo, at Webster Hall.  I was supposed to go with my friend that I met during Work Project I, (see, not only do you get paid and learn a lot during WP I, but you can make lifelong friends too!) but she got super sick at the last minute, so I just went by myself. But even though I went alone, I met some awesome people there and we danced the whole night away. That's one of the great things about New York...you can meet people practically anywhere, at any given moment. It's one of the magical things about the city that I love.

Alright, so that's it for this month! As usual, if you have any questions, just Facebook me! Talk to all of you next month!
