Fashion Closet Intern
November 2008

< back

Well, it's almost the end of the fall semester, which means that as I am writing this, I am totally procrastinating doing all of the wonderful end of the semester projects. It's so stressful, especially when the majority of the projects are group projects. The professors assign group projects because they want us to learn how things work in the "real world"...and so what have I learned from these group projects? Well, I have learned that when it comes to group projects, you need to be prepared to pick up the slack for the others in your group who don't do anything.

As I am typing this, I am totally freaking out because I have project due tomorrow and my partner hasn't even contacted me...so I'm basically just doing the whole thing by myself, just so I'm covered in case she totally bails on me. Anyway, I'm just looking forward until tomorrow because I will have handed in all of my projects and I will be free from projects...at least until next semester.

So on a different note...I FINALLY got my Work Project II internship. I'm an official intern at Women's Health magazine. My title is "fashion closet intern" and actually...I really like it so far. I don't have to do the stereotypical intern stuff, like get coffee or anything. I basically just check in and check out merchandise that comes for photo shoots, which is actually fun because I get to see all these fabulous clothes from designers. I also get to work with the fashion director and fashion market editor, which is pretty awesome because I get an up-close look at how a photo shoot comes together. The only thing that I don't like about the internship is that everything is so unorganized there! But my supervisors are really laid back and have given me free reign to organize things however I would like, which is great. Hopefully I will be given more responsibilities, but I guess I will just have to wait and see!

So that's it for this month! Talk to you all next month! And as always, if you have any questions, just Facebook me or email me at dklammer@limcollege.edu
