Volunteering

In addition to the required programs at the college, LIM offers many optional opportunities to further gain experience in the "real world" fashion industry. Throughout the year, part-time internships are available with various industry partners for students looking for additional hands-on experience.

Numerous volunteer opportunities also present themselves throughout the year, one of the most popular is 7th on Sixth New York Fashion Week. Twice a year, LIM students go behind the scenes to help out with duties such as dressing models, setting up for the shows, and seating guests. In addition to Fashion Week, LIM students help out with Market Weeks, special events, trunk shows, and other industry special events.

Our students have volunteered at many New York Fashion Week fashion shows, including those for:

  • Heatherette
  • Luca Luca
  • Kenneth Cole
  • Baby Phat
  • Alice Roi
  • John Bartlett
  • Anna Sui
  • Carmen Marc Valvo

For volunteer opportunities, please check your LIM email, or stop by the Office of Career Services to see what's currently available.
