Transfer Credits

Students who transfer to LIM from another college will have their transcripts analyzed by the Office of Academic Advising according to the following guidelines:

  • All courses must be 100 level or above to be accepted
  • Course grades must be C or higher (D and C- will be accepted for students transferring in with an associate degree).
  • Where course equivalency is evident, credit will be given for specific courses at LIM; courses that do not specifically match LIM courses will be accepted as professional or liberal arts general credits.  If a transfer student believes a course taken previously matches a course at LIM, but credit was not given, the student should present a course description to the Coordinator of Transfer Services, who will decide if the course is equivalent to an LIM course.
  • Only credits will transfer - not the grade.  Grades received at another college will not become part of your cumulative GPA.

Current LIM students who want to take courses at another college to transfer in to LIM must obtain permission from the Office of Academic Advising before enrolling. The guidelines above will apply.

It is the student's responsibility to ensure that all transcripts from other colleges are received by LIM. Students who have requested that other colleges send transcripts to LIM should check with the Office of Academic Advising to make sure that the transcript has arrived.
