Field Trips

Field Trip classes at LIM are a unique opportunity for students to explore the fashion industry first-hand. An integral part of the LIM curriculum, Field Trip is a required course for all freshmen and sophomores.

Each week for an entire semester, students visit various companies in New York City. The locations are diverse and range from a buying office to a manufacturer's showroom, from a public relations firm to a specialty store. Students also meet with an executive from that company who shares insights into the fashion industry.

Field trips have been designed to give students an awareness of a range of career opportunities and invaluable cultural and professional experiences.

Field Trips have included visits to:

  • Gucci
  • Versace
  • Oxygen Network
  • Tiffany and Co.
  • Nanette Lepore
  • Valentino
  • BCBG Handbags
  • Elizabeth Arden
  • Jessica McClintock
  • Lauren Ralph Lauren
  • Escada USA
