On May 2, LIM honored three leading fashion industry executives: Harper's Bazaar Editor-in-Chief, Glenda Bailey; Jeffrey New York and Atlanta founder, CEO and Director of Designer Merchandising at Nordstrom, Jeffrey Kalinsky; and President of Sales, Retail and Marketing Worldwide of Valentino, Graziano de Boni.

The LIM spring gala, "Making it in the Business of Fashion," took place at the Metropolitan Club on Manhattan's Upper East Side.  Proceeds raised at the event benefited LIM's Fashion Education Foundation (FEF), which offers scholarships and grant aid to students in need.

The event drew a crowd of fashion and entertainment world luminaries, including the actress Minnie Driver, who presented Bailey with her award.

Says LIM President Elizabeth S. Marcuse, "Having such distinguished honorees as Glenda Bailey, Jeffrey Kalinsky and Graziano de Boni helps solidify the roots that have already been established at LIM since 1939. This year's honorees are the some of the top image makers and success stories in the business right now, and we hope our students find their careers inspirational.  These three honorees deserve recognition for their accomplishments and we think they embody the caliber of excellence we achieve at LIM."

This is the second annual "Making it..." gala. Last year the College honored Laird + Partners founder, Trey Laird; Bergdorf Goodman Senior Vice President, Fashion Office and Store Presentation, Linda Fargo; Banana Republic Executive Vice President of Design, Deborah Lloyd and ELLE magazine Editor-in-Chief, Roberta Myers.
