Orientation

Congratulations on your acceptance to LIM! We are excited to have you join us. In anticipation for your arrival on campus, we have several activities and programs planned to help you make a smooth transition to LIM. Before you can register for these new student events, please make sure you have submitted the following items to LIM:

1. Enrollment Deposit, Tuition Agreement: You must have paid your enrollment deposit ($400) and submitted a signed Tuition Agreement.

2. Financial Clearance: Students must be financially cleared by our Office of Student Financial Services. Financial clearance constitutes 50% of fall tuition and 100% of fall housing charges (if applicable) paid or covered with confirmed financial aid funds (including all loans). Please contact Student Financial Services at 212-752-1530 ext. 389 if you have any questions.

3. Immunization Records: In accordance with the law, no student will be permitted to attend classes at LIM without a certificate of immunization on file with the College. Please have your doctor complete the immunization form and mail it to the Office of Student Life, 12 East 53rd St., New York, NY 10022. If you do not have the form, it is available on our website at:
http://www.limcollege.edu/html/immunizations.htm.

4. Final Transcripts: Be sure to have your final high school transcript sent to the Office of Admissions. High school transcripts must indicate proof of graduation. You cannot attend LIM classes without submitting proof of graduation.

Transfer students must submit final official transcripts to the Office of Academic Advising. Transfer students are scheduled according to official transcripts on file. If updated transcripts are not available, a grade report must be sent to vdeppoliti@limcollege.edu prior to your Testing and Scheduling date. Evaluations of transfer credits are contingent upon receipt of official transcripts from prior schools. You will be scheduled according to your courses and grades submitted to LIM - therefore, it is in your best interest to submit grade reports and final official transcripts in a timely manner.

Helpful Hints for Orientation

  • Prepare for your placement tests!
  • You'll be exploring New York City, so make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes
  • Students Only! New Student Orientation is a student event, and parents cannot participate. Make sure your parents attend Parent Orientation.
  • Get a good night's sleep, eat a big breakfast, and bring a positive attitude. Orientation is a long (but fun) day. Make sure you arrive refreshed and ready to enjoy your first day as an LIM student.

More specific information will be mailed to you in the next few weeks.
