There are many amenities offered at our brand-new residence. Go to the Residence Hall page for full details. Most rooms are double occupancy and there are also some triple occupancy rooms.

How much does it cost to live at 1760 Third Ave.?
Including all amenities, the current cost for each semester is $7,475 per person ($14,950 total per year) in both the double and triple rooms. We recommend that you review your financial aid package with a counselor in the Office of Student Financial Services at 12 East 53rd St. (Phone 212-752-1530 Ext. 389).

When can I sign up for housing?
New Students: Once you are accepted to LIM the Housing application will be sent to you with your tuition agreement.  The housing process begins once this completed form is returned with the $25 application fee and the $400 enrollment deposit to LIM.

Returning Students: Priority housing sign ups for current LIM students takes place the first three weeks of March, however, we continually accept applications and place students in housing on a first come first served basis.

What do I need to do after I send the application in?
New Students: After we receive your housing application we will mail you a housing contract, which states the policies, rules, and regulations for on-campus living. This agreement must be signed and returned with a $500 non-refundable (to be applied to your semester housing charges) and $200 refundable (to be reimbursed after a satisfactory room inspection at the end of spring semester) housing deposit.
Returning Students: If you currently live in one of LIM's residence halls you need to review, sign, and return the last page of the housing contract.

Do I need to send in a taxpayer ID form with my housing contract?
No. We have streamlined our security deposit payment process so that LIM no longer uses the taxpayer ID form to hold housing security deposits.

Can I sign up with a roommate?
Absolutely. We encourage you to find someone compatible to live with and sign up together. Please make sure that you talk with each other beforehand about your living situation and request each other in the designated area on the form. If both individuals do not request each other we will not place you as roommates.

What if I don't have anyone to sign up with as a roommate?
We will attempt to pair you up with a compatible roommate based upon the information you provide in the housing application. We will do our best to match you with someone with similar sleeping habits, study habits, cleanliness, hobbies, etc.

Will there be enough spaces in the residence hall to accommodate all students who request housing?
Although we can not guarantee housing to our students, we have been able to accommodate all requests in previous years. To ensure that you have housing, we encourage you to return all forms in a timely manner.

What is the move-in date?
New Students will be asked to move in on August 13, 2008. A housing package will be sent to you in late July with more specific information about all your housing needs.

Returning Students will be asked to move in on August 15, 16, and 17.

Is housing available for the Spring semester?
LIM's housing is based on a one-year contract which runs from August to May. For students coming in mid - year, housing is offered based on availability. Frequently, rooms will become available in the Spring due to students graduating or studying abroad.

Once I am accepted into LIM student housing can I live there for all four years?
Continuing residents are given priority if they choose to live on campus the following year during the designated priority housing sign-up period at the beginning of March.

Is there a housing orientation program and do I have to attend?
There will be a mandatory housing orientation for all new students. It will take place after move-in, during the first weekend before classes start.
