Macy's Herald Square window display

Visual Merchandising professor Paul Olszewski was recently featured in a video on CNN along with the team responsible for creating the Macy's Herald Square 2009 holiday window display. The Macy's windows attract visitors from the world over and are one of New York City's most enduring holiday traditions. In this year's display, Paul and team created a robotic letter reader that detects "magic" inside children's letters to Santa, stamps them with a seal of approval, and sends them off into a winged creature's arms who then ferries the letters to Santa. In addition to the amazing animation, modeling, and props that go into the Macy's windows, this year Paul and the team added touch-screen technology, bringing customization and interactivity to the display.

LIM College prepares students for success in the fashion industry. Our professors are some of the most respected professionals in their field. In addition to holding the prestigious post of Director of Windows for Macy's Herald Square, Paul was recently named one of the country's top ten influencers in Retail Design in the DDI Portfolio Awards. Congratulations Paul!
