Four opportunities to complete your lecture requirements

During today's Career Day activities, there are four opportunities to complete your lecture requirements, in which all LIM College students must attend and reflect on a series of College-sponsored lectures throughout the semester.

During today's Career Fair, there are several opportunities to complete these requirements. Please review the options below:

9:45–10:45 Townhouse, 4th Floor
Panel Discussion on “Opportunities behind the Brands” with a focus on those aspects of the fashion and related industries that support the front line brands. This will include discussion of private label, licensing and brand development.

Panelists include:

David Meir Sasson, CFO/COO of Chado/Ralph Rucci
Steve Shapiro, President of Schwartz and Benjamin Footwear
Ellen Rodriguez, CEO French Connection USA

11:00–12:00 in Maxwell Hall 3rd Floor
Merchant and executive training with Urban. This presentation will focus on merchant training and structured executive training programs. Urban will also be interviewing for their training programs following this presentation

1:00–2:00 Townhouse, 4th Floor
"Hidden opportunities in Corporate Retail" with Mindy Meads will focus on careers in corporate retail and the breadth of opportunities outside of the store. Mindy Meads, known for her merchandising expertise and leadership building teams, has more than 37 years of experience in the clothing business. Mindy joined Aeropostale in 2007 and served as Co-CEO of Aeropostale in 2010. Under Mindy’s leadership, Aeropostale launched P.S., the company’s kids division. Prior to Aeropostale, Mindy was CEO/President of Victoria Secret Direct. In 2004, she was named CEO/President of Lands End. Mindy also held a wide range of executive merchandising positions at RH Macy and Co., Limited, Gymboree and Sears Retail.

3:00–4:00 Townhouse, 4th Floor
"Building Your Own Path as an Entrepreneur." This presentation will focus on building a career in fashion by your rules and some of the pitfalls and issues in being your own boss. This panel is for students interested in building a career as an entrepreneur.
