Visual Merchandising Professor Creates Window Display for the Fashion Center

10/19/2012

Marjorie Lee Woo's design commemorates the Abingdon Theatre Company's 20th season

Marjorie Lee Woo, Associate Chair of LIM College's Visual Merchandising Department, recently installed a window at The Fashion Center (208 West 38th St. NYC) commemorating the Abingdon Theatre Company's 20th season.

The Abingdon Theatre Company is known for developing and producing new plays by American playwrights. Featured in the window is "Sadie," Abingdon's mascot, atop an old steamer trunk, in front of a theatre facade. A mannequin representing a theatre-goer is also on display, dressed in an ensemble made of (paper) copies of playbills and tickets from previous company performances.

This installation was created to help kick off the 2012 Fashion District Arts Festival, a district-wide celebration of the creative individuals, groups and companies that contribute to the unique energy that fuels America’s fashion capital. It will be on display until November 29.
