Visual Merchandising Students Create Installation for the Housewares Design Awards


Awards show at Marriott Marquis provides exciting opportunity for hands-on experience

visual merchandising faculty and studentOn January 29, LIM College Visual Merchandising students Bianca Bartolo and Ron Domantay, under the direction of Professor Marjorie Lee Woo and with the support of Professor Grailing King and Visual Merchandising Department Chair Eric Feigenbaum, completed an installation at the Marriot Marquis Hotel for the Housewares Design Awards.

 The Housewares Design Awards— the premier awards program focused on housewares design innovation— was founded in 2003 by HomeWorld Business magazine to honor the unyielding effort within the industry to create new ways to improve everyday living. This marks the fourth time that LIM College's Visual Merchandising students worked on the set-up of the Housewares Design Awards, and they've already been invited to participate again next year.

The Housewares Design Awards join an impressive roster of industry partners LIM College's Visual Merchandising Depatment has recently worked with to provide students with experiential education opportunities, including The Dream Downtown Hotel, DHL, the Fashion Center Business Improvement District, and the National Stationery Show.
