Entrepreneur's visit is part of the LIM College CEO Roundtable Series

Rachel_SchechtmanRachel Shechtman, Founder of STORY and Cube Ventures, will be at LIM College on Tuesday, April 30 to talk to graduate students as part of the College's ongoing CEO Roundtable series. The event will be held in FashionOpolis (1st floor of the LIM College Townhouse) at 5:30 p.m. and is open to MBA and MPS students and undergraduate Fashion Scholars only. Dr. Milan Milasinovic, Vice President for Academic Affairs, will moderate the discussion.

About Rachel Shechtman
Rachel Shechtman is a fourth generation entrepreneur who loves finding the next big thing almost as much as sharing it with her clients. In 2003 and with Bliss Spas as her first client, Rachel launched Cube Ventures, a retail and marketing consultancy that has worked with clients such as Gilt Groupe, Lord & Taylor and others.

In January 2009, Rachel launched the marketing division of Cube Venture that creates brand to consumer relationships through meaningful partnerships and experiences and has worked with TOMS, Kraft Foods, JC Penney, GAP , AOL , CFDA and Moleskine.

In addition to her consultancy, today Rachel is bringing her strategies to life for herself through STORY, a physical retail marketing experience on 10th Avenue and 19th St., in the heart of Chelsea in New York City. STORY is a space that has the point of view of a magazine, changes like a gallery and sells things like a store. The concept initially launched in beta on December 1, 2011 with the exhibition A STARTUP STORE and on February 1, 2012 emerged with its permanent name, STORY, and branding designed by the internationally acclaimed design firm Sagmeister & Walsh.

Highlights since opening STORY include running a competition called Project Pop-up NYC for the City of New York and on behalf of Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Fashion 2020 campaign – which opened on September 6, 2012, kicking off NY Fashion Week with a press conference by Mayor Bloomberg at STORY. In October 2012, STORY debuted its’ most interactive issue yet – MAKING THINGS, in partnership with GE. Anyone could make anything, from a toy on MakerBot 3D printers or etching just about anything on a laser cutter!

STORY has received international attention from media near and far with key coverage in publications ranging from Forbes to Inc to WWD. Most recently, Rachel has been named one of Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business for 2012, included as a retailer to watch in Fortune’s "40 under 40" issue and her vision crossed continents in December 2012 when she was included in Italy’s Marie Claire’s "25 people who will shape the future."
