Global Retail Executive Andrew Jennings to Open Fall 2013 CEO Speaker Series

Andrew Jennings, CEO of the Karstadt Group, will open the Fall 2013 edition of LIM College's CEO Speaker Series on Monday, Sept. 9 at 5:30 p.m. in FashionOpolis (at the LIM College Townhouse, 12 East 53rd St.).
Andrew Jennings is a highly accomplished global retail executive with more than 39 years of achievement at some of the world’s most respected high-end, specialty stores, including Harrods and House of Fraser in London, Brown Thomas in Ireland, Holt Renfrew in Canada and Saks Fifth Avenue in the U.S.
A recent assignment was the successful turnaround of Woolworths, South Africa, a $2.8 billion-dollar business with 400 stores appealing to the mid/premium market.
Jennings is currently CEO of the Karstadt Group - the iconic 132-year old German retail group with 112 stores, including the renowned KaDeWe store in Berlin.
Recognized for his leadership capabilities and performance-driven management style, Andrew Jennings commands a vast knowledge of consumer trends, vendor networks and retail practices in mature and emerging markets. He has distinguished himself in senior positions in central buying, marketing and store operations in six countries and on four continents.
Key to his sustained success is his ability to adapt his management approach to address the challenges and optimize the opportunities presented by dynamic trading environments at pivotal stages in their evolution - from the sophistication of New York City to the new world complexities of South Africa.
