LIM College Alumna Daniella Vitale to Give Keynote Address at 75th Annual Commencement

Daniella VitaleDaniella Vitale, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Executive Vice President of Barneys New York, will deliver the keynote address at LIM College’s 75th annual Commencement exercises on Thursday, May 22 at 10 am at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center in Manhattan. Ms. Vitale will also be presented with LIM College’s Distinguished Achievement Award and receive an honorary Doctor of Commercial Science degree at the ceremony.

“As we celebrate our 75th Anniversary, we are very much looking forward to honoring Daniella Vitale and having her address our graduates at this year’s Commencement. She is an enormously successful graduate of LIM College and an outstanding role model for our students,” said LIM College President Elizabeth S. Marcuse.

“Daniella graduated from LIM College in 1986 and has gone on to hold prominent senior leadership positions in the business of fashion. Her stature in the industry epitomizes the opportunities for success that an LIM College education represents. We are grateful to have Daniella as our Commencement speaker at such an important milestone in LIM College’s history and I am confident her presence will motivate and inspire our graduating class,” President Marcuse concluded.

Ms. Vitale assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer at Barneys New York in 2012. She originally joined Barneys in December of 2010 as Chief Merchant and Executive Vice President. She began her career in the luxury sector as a Merchandise Manager for Salvatore Ferragamo. From there she joined Giorgio Armani as Vice President of Wholesale in 1994 and then joined Gucci in 1999 in a similar capacity. In 2006, she was named President and CEO of Gucci America.

Ms. Vitale is very active in the philanthropic sector, receiving two awards for her charitable contributions: the Champion of Children award from Legal Information for Families Today (LIFT) and “Women Who Get it Right” from the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund. Today, Ms. Vitale plays an active role in the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and sits on the New York Business Advisory Board of UNICEF.
