A team from LIM College and Creative Communication Associates (CCA) gave a presentation on the use of student-generated video on the College’s website at the American Marketing Association’s 2009 Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education in Boston, Massachusetts on November 17.

Higher education marketers from all over the world attended the symposium to gather information and discuss cutting-edge approaches, new tools and technologies, and the hottest trends on the forefront of higher education marketing. The event focused on key areas of interest to colleges and universities, including using social media and Web 2.0 effectively, marketing communications strategy and execution, and building strong college and university brands. This year’s conference saw the highest attendance numbers in the Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education’s 20-year history.

The LIM College/CCA session, titled “In My Fashionable Opinion (IMFO): How Student-Created Viral Videos Make A Difference in Building a College Brand” featured LIM College students Nina Pantano and Alexandra Penberg; Ed Sirianno, President and Creative Director of CCA and Pam Linton, LIM College’s Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives. They discussed the rationale and process for creating the new IMFO video feature on LIM College’s recently redesigned website. IMFO offers an opportunity for students to produce and post short videos on topics related to fashion, New York city and/or life as an LIM College student.

More than 130 higher education professionals attended the LIM College session. Says Pam Linton, “We were very pleased that LIM College was selected to present at this major industry event and that so many conference participants chose to attend our session. This helped raise our profile in the higher education community and put LIM College on the national map as an innovator in higher education marketing.”
