Top CEOs Visit LIM College MBA Program

Paul Charron will be the next speaker on Dec. 8

This fall, a new CEO Speaker Series is bringing the best and brightest minds in the retail and apparel industries on campus to interact with LIM College’s MBA students in an intimate and informal setting.

Confirmed speakers for Fall 2010 include: Stephen I. Sadove, Chairman and CEO of Saks, Inc. (Oct.12); Mindy Grossman, CEO of HSN, Inc. (Nov. 10); and Paul Charron, Chairman of the Board of Campbell Soup Company and former Chairman and CEO of Liz Claiborne, Inc. (Dec. 8).

Each speaker will address a group of 70 MBA students and undergraduate scholars, as well as participants in the undergraduate Fashion Scholars honors program, for approximately 40 minutes, followed by a Q&A session of approximately 20 minutes.

Stephen I. Sadove, Chairman and CEO of Saks, Inc. (pictured above with Dr. Milan Milasinovic, Vice President of Graduate Studies) kicked off the series with a visit on Oct. 12. Sadove delivered the keynote address at LIM College’s 2009 Commencement ceremony, where he also received the College’s Distinguished Achievement Award as well as an honorary Doctor of Commercial Science degree.

Mindy Grossman, CEO of HSN, Inc.,
(pictured below) spoke on Nov. 10. Grossman was the keynote speaker at the College’s 2010 Commencement ceremony, and was also the recipient of LIM College’s Distinguished Achievement Award and an honorary Doctor of Commercial Science degree.

Says Dr. Milan Milasinovic, Dean of Graduate Studies & Continuing Education, “Through sharing their own personal experiences, insights, and advice on running a successful enterprise, these chief executives have the opportunity to inspire, inform, and motivate the next generation of industry leaders. Steve, Mindy and Paul are all exemplary role models for our graduate students as they acquire the education to advance their own careers in the business of fashion.”

As the nation’s only college focused solely on the business of fashion, LIM College is also home to the country’s only Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program with concentrations in Fashion Management and Entrepreneurship.

Offered through the College’s Center for Graduate Studies & Continuing Education, the LIM College MBA is designed to meet the industry’s growing need for executives who can succeed in a rapidly-evolving and increasingly complex business environment and move the fashion industry into the future. Teaching advanced concepts and theories of management, leadership, and entrepreneurship within the context of the fashion business, courses are conducted by leading practitioners and academics who bring the fashion world into the classroom.
