LIM College Students' Styling Business Finds Success
Erica Lavelanet and David Pena's LPFashionPhilosophy snags assignments to style actors Matthew Settle and Will Estes and musician Tim William
LIM College students Erica Lavelanet and David Pena are experiencing much success as they continue to run their wardrobe styling business, known as LPFashionPhilosophy. In addition to attending classes at LIM they have their hands full with editorial shoots and other high-profile artistic projects.
They recently styled Mathew Settle of Gossip Girl and Will Estes of Blue Bloods for MF (Music Fashion) Magazine. They also styled Settle for syndication, working with acclaimed photographer Catherine Westergaard.
Yet, according to the dynamic duo, their biggest and most exciting adventure of all has been their long-term relationship with music artist Tim William. They are William's full-time stylists and dress him for events and appearances. They also styled his debut music video, Tripping, featuring Travie McCoy of Gym Class Heroes. The video won mtvU's The Freshman and will now get into rotation on mtvU each week. In addition to its premiere on MTV, the video is also being featured on channels such as VH1 and SpikeTV.
Says Erica, "We are super-excited about our work with Tim William. It's been such an incredible time in our lives and we are really appreciative that LIM College has been so supportive. Nearly every day we get messages and emails from prospective LIM students, asking us about the school and our careers. We've been able to travel cross-country, work with people from around the world, and experience some of the best moments of our lives. We are living our wildest dreams."
