Three LIM College students have been selected as Class of 2022 FSF Scholars.
Nidhi Jadhav, Helena Miller, and Nicholas Porrazzo are among 123 college students nationwide who will receive a financial award from the Fashion Scholarship Fund (FSF) and be formally recognized at a celebration in April.
The FSF is a premier fashion-oriented education and workforce development organization. The FSF awards over $1 million each year in scholarships to talented students to help them succeed in all sectors of the industry including design, merchandising, marketing analytics, and supply chain. The FSF also provides their scholars with a range of internship and career opportunities, mentorship, networking, professional development, and access to influential leaders and companies. Among the FSF’s many corporate sponsors are: Kohl’s, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Ralph Lauren, Perry Ellis, Kenneth Cole, and Ross Stores.
FSF Scholarships are awarded based on merit, taking into consideration the applicants' GPAs, as well as the completion of an annual case study project. Faculty advisors Marla Greene and Bob Conrad supported all of LIM’s participating students throughout the months-long FSF scholarship application process.
Case study topics change each year, but always focus on real issues currently facing the fashion industry. Miller’s case study proposed a collaboration between Anthropologie and the Hinge dating app to develop looks for in-person and virtual dates. Jadhav explored an idea for a Pandora jewelry line that would celebrate inclusion and cultural diversity. And Porrazzo proposed a “collection of travel and tech accessories for the modern digital nomad” from Target.
Jadhav, Miller, and Porrazzo are all featured in the FSF Digital Showcase—a directory of scholarship recipients that includes links to their case studies, resumes, and LinkedIn profiles.
