“Through its curriculum and internship opportunities, LIM College gave me a hands-on approach. I got my foot in the door at the first company I worked for after graduation because I successfully completed my Senior Co-op there.”
Tyler Emerson entered Saks’ Executive Excellence training program immediately after graduating from LIM College, and after being promoted to Senior Assistant Buyer for Women's Contemporary Trend/Separates, he took a position at Express as Associate Merchant for Women's Casual Knits.
Tyler reports that the skills he acquired at LIM College provided a solid foundation for him to be successful. He cites Merchandise Planning and Control as a course that was particularly helpful. He also gained experience during internships at Juicy Couture and Atrium.
Tyler advises future LIM students to utilize all the resources available to them, including professors, classes, and clubs, and says, “To really succeed you need to be dynamic and adapt to change. And don’t be afraid to make mistakes -- they help you learn new things.”
