Visual Merchandising Professor Judges Holiday Window Displays for DDI Magazine
Ron Knoth helps select 10th annual “Winning Windows”
DDI Magazine has named Bergdorf Goodman as the Platinum Award winner in their annual "Winning Windows" Manhattan holiday retail window competition this week. Macy’s Herald Square took home the second-place Gold Award, and Bloomingdale’s was honored with the third-place Silver Award.
Judging is based on three criteria: creativity, spirit of the season and technical aspects of execution. This year’s judges included Alison Embrey Medina, executive editor, DDI Magazine; Jessie Bove, managing editor, DDI Magazine; and Ron Knoth, who is a professor in LIM College’s Visual Merchandising department.
To determine the winners, the judges put on their walking boots and toured the storefronts of New York City, delighting in the creative, clever, and ever-entertaining designs that window teams across the city have spent the past year planning and executing.
The Winning Windows honorees were presented with their awards at the PAVE Gala on Dec. 9 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City.
