LIM College's Spring 2013 Fashion Insiders event series will open with a screening of Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel, a film on the life and career of the fashion legend, made by Lisa Immordino Vreeland.
The event will include a presentation by LIM College Archivist David Benjamin, who will be introduced by Dr. Dudley Blossom, Associate Dean of Experiential Education and Career Management, and will take place on January 30 at 6 p.m. in Maxwell Hall (1st floor). A hardcover copy of the book Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel will also be raffled off.
According to the film's website:
"During Diana Vreeland’s 50-year reign as the “Empress of Fashion,” she launched Twiggy, advised Jackie Onassis, and established countless trends that have withstood the test of time. She was the fashion editor of Harper’s Bazaar, where she worked for 25 years before becoming editor-in-chief of Vogue, followed by a remarkable stint at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, where she helped popularize its historical collections.
Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel is an intimate portrait and a vibrant celebration of one of the most influential women of the twentieth century, an enduring icon who has had a strong influence on the course of fashion, beauty, publishing and culture."
According to Michael Palladino, Director of Student Life at LIM College, "This semester, Fashion Insiders events will showcase people who took a leap of faith, and in doing so, brought their talents and careers to new levels."
Refreshments will be sponsored by the Department of Experiential Education and Career Management. For more information contact email@example.com
