Leadership Programs

Danielle Douglas-Jones

LIM College’s small size and unique focus mean there are numerous opportunities for students to develop leadership skills. The Office of Student Life promotes leadership development for all students. Student leaders take these skills into professional roles, making them well-equipped to be industry leaders.

Student leaders gain skills in teamwork, multicultural competencies, goal setting, time management, and many other areas. There many ways to get involved on campus.  You can join a student organization, become an Orientation Leader, or simply volunteer in a College office.

Student Clubs & Organizations
There is a student organization for almost everyone at LIM College and if you can’t find the right fit, then you can start your own! You can learn more about the fashion industry, gain business skills, and impact the LIM College environment by joining a student organization. Student clubs and organizations meet during the lunch hour and Student Life-recognized organizations are eligible to receive funding! Stop by the Club Expo at the beginning of each semester to learn more about all of our student clubs as well as other opportunities to get involved on campus.

Orientation Leader Program
The Orientation Leader program trains current students to work with incoming students at the College’s New Student Orientation program. Orientation Leaders are role models and play a vital part in the transition of new students. Being an Orientation Leader is a great way to become involved, build your resume, and make new friends.

Annual Leadership Conference
The Office of Student Life sponsors an Annual Leadership Conference, which brings together student leaders with staff, faculty, and invited guests to discuss leadership issues. The leadership conference is a great opportunity for students to reflect on various topics related to leadership. Student leaders leave the conference inspired to improve their organizations and improve the LIM College community.

Student Leadership Series
Student leaders seek new ways to improve the campus community through leadership. The Office of Student Life wants to support student leaders, so we developed the Student Leadership Series.  This invitation-only series features a series of discussions on topics related to leadership at LIM College. Participation offers students feedback throughout the year and helps them maintain momentum to accomplish their personal, professional, and organization goals. The series will provide feedback for student leaders from their peers as well as professional staff members. It will also provide an opportunity for student leaders to let the Office of Student Life know what other opportunities they would like to see on campus.
