Professor Kennedy is an expert in sustainability and fashion. She created the LIM courses Storytelling for Sustainability and Sustainability and the Future of Fashion

The founder of Fashiondex, Professor Kennedy has researched, written, edited and published over 12 fashion-trade directories and design books. As a designer and merchandiser, she worked with Ann Taylor, Bob Mackie, Sunny Leigh, Pierre Cardin and Calvin Klein among other brands. She also consults with new designers and companies on sourcing, launching and maintaining sustainable fashion businesses.

In 2017, Professor Kennedy was trained by Al Gore as a Climate Reality Leader in the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. In 2018, she was trained by Al Gore and Karenna Gore at the Center for Earth Ethics.

Professor Kennedy earned a BA in Fashion Design from Parsons and a master's degree in Education and an Advanced Certificate in Education for Sustainability from Manhattanville College.
