Anahu Guzman has been the Director of LIM College’s Math Center since 2005, offering academic assistance in all areas of math-related study in order to support and enrich classroom instruction. Under his leadership, the Math Center was granted the College Reading & Learning Association’s International Tutor Training Program Certification.
Dr. Guzman is also the Associate Chair of the Arts and Sciences Department, overseeing the LIM’s mathematics curriculum and students’ mathematics placement. He teaches several courses, including Mathematics Through Business Applications, Introduction to Algebra, College Algebra, Statistics, and Business Calculus I & II. In 2019, he was promoted to Associate Professor.
Dr. Guzman is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the American Mathematical Society, and American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges. He has received the American Statistical Association Award from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, City University of New York (CUNY) and the Aung San Suu Kyi Award from York College, CUNY, where he was a Minority Access to Research Careers scholar.
Dr. Guzman holds Ph. D. and Master of Science degrees in Mathematics Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree in Statistics from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, CUNY, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from York College, CUNY.
