About

Dr. Daniel Chaskes is Chair of the Department of Arts and Sciences. He also teaches literature seminars in the areas of world literature and contemporary U.S. fiction.

His scholarly work, which focuses on global themes in U.S. postmodern literature, has appeared in the Journal of Modern Literature and Comparative Literature and Culture, and his review essays have been published by American Literature, Modern Fiction Studies, and English Studies in Canada. He is currently writing an article on gender, race, and ecology in U.S. immigration narratives. 

Professor Chaskes holds a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Arts from University College London.
