O’Rita Johnson joined LIM College in 2005 as an adjunct faculty member and Math Center tutor. In 2008 she was named Assistant Director of the Math Center.
Among the courses she teaches are College Algebra, Mathematics through Business Applications, Introduction to Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and Business Calculus.
A member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Mathematics Association of America, Professor Johnson holds a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics from City College, City University of New York. She also completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a minor in Computer Engineering at City College and holds an Associate in Applied Science degree in Computer Science from New York City Technical College.
She completed a doctoral degree in Mathematics Education at Columbia University's Teachers College in 2019 and plans to pursue research in the area of remedial mathematics.
