New Student Summer Series

Welcome to LIM!

We’re hosting events all summer long – on campus and virtual – where you can make friends, have fun, and start to enjoy being part of our community.

Check out the calendar below for all the dates and details!

June Events

June 6: Roommate Mixer (Virtual)

  • An opportunity for students who will be living at FOUND Study - Midtown East to meet potential roommates or simply connect with new neighbors. You will be put in rotating virtual breakout rooms so you can meet as many classmates as possible. LIM staff members will also be there to answer questions.

June 16: Summer Series Kick-Off Event (Virtual)

  • Join us for an overview of the Summer Engagement Series, LIM Up Close Days and New Student Orientation! Get all of the information you need as you prepare to start your educational journey at LIM College. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet Orientation Leaders and other new LIM students.

June 27: NYC 101 (Virtual)

  • Learn tricks and tips for living in NYC. A student panel will share all they know about taking the subway, finding inexpensive and delicious food, and what to do on weekends!

June 28: Families Partnering with Student Affairs for Student Success (Virtual)

  • Families members are invited to join the Vice President of Student Affairs to learn about LIM College resources and how parents and families members can partner with Student Affairs to support their student.

June 29: Financing College 101 (Virtual)

  • Join the Director of Student Financial Services (SFS) to explore opportunities to finance your college education at LIM College. This will be an opportunity for students and families to learn about financial aid, merit scholarships, private scholarships, students loans, student work study, student employment, and much, much more!

July Events

July 11: LIM Up Close (On Campus)

  • We don’t want to have to wait until September to see you, so we’ve planned in-person “Up Close at LIM” days for incoming students.
  • Join us on campus in NYC to:
    • Make your schedule and register for classes
    • Have fun with your new classmates
    • Take care of business (meet w/ Financial Aid counselors, get your ID, etc.)
    • Meet reps from our Student Clubs

 

July 11: Off-Campus Housing Search (Virtual)

  • Searching for an NYC apartment can be overwhelming. We're here to help!
  • Learn about various NYC neighborhoods and get tips on finding a great place, working with a broker and landlord, budgeting, and more.

July 26: Discover Your Career Brand Series: Design You Career Vision (Virtual)

  • Imagine achieving your career goals. What are you doing? What are you saying? How are you showing up?
  • Personal branding is more than just your resume. Explore what makes you unique and learn steps to build your personal career brand and shape your future.

July 27: Discover Your Career Brand Series: Put Purpose, Passion, and Power to Work (Virtual)

  • Get inspired to bring your mission to life.
  • Hear from current and former undergraduate and graduate students about their internship experiences and career paths.

July 28: Discover Your Career Brand Series: Celebrate the Future Leaders of Fashion and Beyond (Virtual)

  • Start building your online presence and take action towards your dreams.
  • And in celebration of National Intern Day on July 29, check out @lifeatlim throughout the day for posts and stories from students who are now interning.

August Events

August 1: LIM Up Close (On Campus)

  • We don’t want to have to wait until September to see you, so we’ve planned in-person “Up Close at LIM” days for incoming students.

    • Have fun with your new classmates
    • Take care of business (meet w/ Financial Aid counselors, get your ID, etc.)

August 2: Transfer Student Connect (Virtual)

  • This is an opportunity for new transfer students beginning their degree programs in Fall 2022 to meet each other, as well as become familiar with the Transfer Student Experience program facilitated through the Office of Student Life.

August 4: International Student Connect (Virtual)

  • An opportunity for new international students to meet each other - and connect with other students in the LIM community.
  • LIM staff and International Student Orientation Leaders will facilitate a series of what-if scenarios and group discussions, and we'll brainstorm activities to bring international and domestic students together throughout the academic year.

August 10: Graduate Student Connect (Virtual)

  • An opportunity for new graduate students to meet each other and become familiar with their faculty members and their Academic Advisor. We'll also explore all the resources available to master's students at LIM.

August 16: International Parent and Family Connect (Virtual)

  • An opportunity for new international students and their families to meet each other - and connect with other students in the LIM community.
  • LIM staff and International Student Orientation Leaders will facilitate a series of what-if scenarios and group discussions, and we'll brainstorm activities to bring international and domestic students together throughout the academic year.

August 17: LIM Up Close (On Campus)
