2016 Commencement Speaker: Erik Nordstrom, Co-President of Nordstrom, Inc

Erik Nordstrom, Co-President of Nordstrom, Inc. will deliver the keynote address at LIM College’s 77th Commencement Exercises on May 25, 2016 at Carnegie Hall. At the ceremony, he will also receive an honorary Doctor of Commercial Science degree and be presented with LIM College’s Distinguished Achievement Award.
In addition to his role as Co-President, Mr. Nordstrom also serves on Nordstrom’s Board of Directors. From 2000 to 2014 he was President of Stores during a period of significant investment and rapid growth as the company added 46 new Nordstrom stores, announced expansion plans that included the company’s first stores in Canada, Puerto Rico and New York, and grew revenue from approximately $5 billion to nearly $8 billion.
In his current role, Mr. Nordstrom and his team look for opportunities to enhance the customer experience on Nordstrom.com from the customer’s first click to delivery of their order. In 2014, Nordstrom.com achieved $2 billion in sales. As a member of the executive team, Mr. Nordstrom was deeply involved in many of Nordstrom’s digital initiatives over the past decade, including the acquisitions of HauteLook and Trunk Club, as well as the development and launch of Nordstromrack.com.
Mr. Nordstrom first visited LIM College in November of 2014, participating in the College’s C-Suite Speaker Series and meeting with undergraduate students to discuss the company’s heritage, strategy and values, as well as evolving career opportunities in the field of retail.
