How did your LIM internships influence your career choices?

My Senior Co-op internship as a digital marketing intern at John Varvatos had the greatest impact on my career path. It was my first experience working in digital marketing and it made me eager to learn more about the field.

Immediately following graduation I got a job as a Marketing Assistant at Bluefly, and was then promoted to Marketing Associate. I worked primarily in email marketing. Now, I’m the Email Marketing Coordinator at Uniqlo USA.

Knowing what you know now, if you could go back in time and give advice to yourself what would it be?

I would tell myself not to overthink. All internship, volunteer, freelance, and early career experiences are learning opportunities. Make the most of each — and don't stress about it being “perfect.” You don’t really know what any position is like or where it can take you until you are actually doing it. Just ask questions and learn as much as you can.

How did your LIM College education help prepare you for your career?

After completing so many internships throughout my time at LIM, I was so excited to lock down a full-time job and earn a salary! Having a strong knowledge of the fashion industry has played a huge role in my career, as I apply this knowledge on a daily basis in my current job. Compared to my friends who attended other colleges, I felt more prepared to start my career because I knew exactly what to expect.
