Australian Students to Study at LIM College this Summer
June 16, 2016
Every year, several LIM students take a 24-hour plane ride to study at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Melbourne, Australia for a semester. This summer, for the second year in a row, students from RMIT will come to New York City to take a two-week course at LIM College.
The class, Digital Marketing and Electronic Commerce, will be taught by Shelly Nicholas. Using case studies, guest speakers, and industry site visits, the RMIT students will learn the essential components of building a digital brand.
“The curriculum that we created will help the RMIT students develop the online branding and marketing skills required to be effective professionals upon entering the business side of fashion,” says Professor Nicholas.
“Attending class at LIM College in New York City also affords the students' opportunities to learn from and network with guest speakers. Combined with access to industry professionals and a dynamic, hands-on final project, this ensures that the students are immersed in a learning experience like no other.”
This summer’s course will feature guest speakers from LinkedIn, People StyleWatch, and WellStyled Events.
An RMIT student who participated in the program in 2015 remarked, “I learned so much and gained insights into the industry that I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to back in Australia.”
